Digging through the old files today and I'm finding all kinds of crap I forgot about. I was asked to submit some art for a possible Supergirl book aimed at a younger audience, so I did this and another piece which is far more cartoon (and I can't find it at the moment) and I guess the didn't like it because you see how the book turned out. It's fun looking, but a lot younger than I was thinking. I thought maybe something like this would be their NYX, but they had other ideas.

Eee, freckles! She looks awesome and cheery and just a little wicked, which is perfect for Supergirl, I think. I love how much her personality comes through here -- she looks like a genuinely good person who manages that feat without being at all boring. Sunshine through and through.

I have to say, I like the more youthful, "cuter" superfirl rather than the generic female comic book character look some other artists give her. Good job.
